The Knight Preceptor is an excellent close-range asset for the Questoris class. Its design is intended to represent the basic principles of the Code of Chivalry in battle: approach the enemy to honorable distances, attack him with considerable force out of respect for his resistance, and kill him quickly and cleanly in the name of the Emperor. To do this, they are armed with a Reaper chainsword or a thunderous gauntlet, and the rare and terrifying laser drive. Canis Rex is a notable Knight Preceptor, who escaped the tortures of the Iron Warriors and has since punished the minions of Chaos with fury and vehemence.
This multi-part plastic kit contains the parts necessary to assemble a Knight Preceptor. This is a very complete kit: it contains all the parts of an entire Imperial Knight Warden, along with 37 additional components with which to convert the Knight into a Preceptor and, optionally, Canis Rex, a specific named Preceptor. These components are broken down as follows:
- An array of Imperial Knight shell components, including the shell itself, parts of an engine block, shoulder pads, 2 sets of shell heraldry, and a heavy machine gun;
- An array of Imperial Knight leg components, including leg and foot sockets, greaves, waist socket, chest plates, 2 face plates, a banner, a jousting shield, and knee and crotch armor plates;
- An array of Imperial Knight weapons, including a thermal cannon, a rapid-fire battle cannon, a heavy machine gun, 2 alternate face plates, and a torso socket;
- An Imperial Knight Warden array, including a Thunder Gauntlet, Avenger Gatling Cannon, Dual Shell-Mounted Icarus Autocannon, Shell-Mounted Missile Launcher with options of Ironstorm, Shieldbreaker or Stormspear modules, Fusion Rifle, 3 Plates alternative facials, and a jousting shield.
These dies are used to assemble the basic Imperial Knight build with Reaper Chainsword or Thunder Gauntlet, and then complete the Knight Preceptor with the following:
- An array of Knight Preceptor components, including the laser drive mount, a unique faceplate, a multilaser that mounts just below the left front of the shell, an alternate heraldry piece for the shell, 6 wolf, a knee pad with sculpted sword and chain, a mountable cockpit (which fits inside the shell and can be modeled open if you want, showing the throne, controls, and a seated pilot), a foot pilot charging a power battery, and a jousting shield and banner specific to Canis Rex.
This kit can be built as Canis Rex, or as a Knight Preceptor, Errant, Paladin, Warden, Gallant or Crusader; The weapons are interchangeable and can be used as spare parts for other Knights kits you may have.
The Knight Preceptor is made up of 250 pieces, and includes a Citadel 170mm oval base, a Citadel 25mm round base for the foot pilot, and a decal sheet with Imperial Knights heraldry and Canis Rex-specific heraldry.
