The M-ATV was developed by Oshkosh Corporation for the US Armed Forces in 2008, which was seeking a new light all-terrain vehicle for its infantry units operating in Afghanistan. The new vehicle was developed with the greatest possible mobility in mind and providing the crew with a high level of safety against so-called explosives. During its production, several variants of this vehicle were created, for example the M-ATV Command (command car with extensive electronic and communication equipment), the M-ATV Utility (transport vehicle) or the M-ATV Special Process (a vehicle adapted to the needs of special forces). M-ATVs have been or are used by the armed forces of several countries, including Croatia, Portugal, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
