"Oeil pour oeil, dent pour dent" (Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth) Regimental motto of the Zouaves.
The second Antipodean offensive was so intense that the Merovingians were forced to create a mobile intervention and assault force capable of moving as quickly as possible to the hotbeds of conflict and crushing any enemy definitively. The requirements for this force were so high that it was only possible to entrust it to a select group of volunteers. In this way, the Zouaves Regiment, one of the most famous units in French military history, was reborn. The original unit fused the concepts of individual glory and passionate performances typical of 19th century military culture, leading them to be called by some of the "best soldiers in the world."
Despite the challenge of such tradition, the Merovingian Zouaves are worthy heirs who uphold the regiment's record. Revered by their countrymen as brave, reckless and incendiary fighters, the Zouaves are heroes of the bloodiest battles and substance for military legends. Since its inception, the regiment has seen a wide range of service in the harshest conditions and against the most ruthless enemies throughout Ariadne. Actions such as those in the Separatist Wars cemented their reputation as fierce storm troops, impressing their enemies with their bravery and earning their respect and fear. There is not a single military campaign in which they do not have an active role, since their great qualities as light storm troops ideally place them as the first to contact the enemy, where their combative nature and fighting methods are as forceful as they are effective
